Q: What is use of header() function in php?

Gulam
26 Jan 2015

The header() function sends a raw HTTP header to a client. We can use header() function for redirection of pages. It is important to notice that header() must be called before any actual output is seen..

How can we send mail using JavaScript?

Gulam
01 Feb 2015

JavaScript does not have any networking capabilities as it is designed to work on client site. As a result we can not send mails using JavaScript. But we can call the client side mail protocol "mailto" via JavaScipt to prompt for an email to send this requires the client to approve it.

AJAX= Asynchronous JavaScript and XML
AJAX is the art of exchanging data with a server, and updating parts of a web page without reloading the whole page.

AJAX is a technique for creating fast and dynamic web pages. AJAX allows web pages to be updated asynchronously by exchanging small amounts of data with the server behind the scenes. This means that it is possible to update parts of a web page, without reloading the whole page.
Example: Google maps, Gmail, Youtube, Facebook like and tab, Check Availability, Voting Polls etc.

JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) is a lightweight data-interchange format.

My webpage is quite long. How can I add a button in my page, clicking on which, the page should scroll to the top with a decent animation?

Gulam Hassnain

You can put this script on header section or footer:

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function(){
$(window).scroll(function(){
if ($(this).scrollTop() > 250) {
$('#scrollup').fadeIn(300);
} else {
$('#scrollup').fadeOut(300);
}
});

$('#scrollup').click(function(){
$("html, body").animate({ scrollTop: 0 }, 1000);
return false;
});
});
</script>

Now you call this function your footer side in HTML page, if you want scrollup id look button type, so you can apply css effect here.

<a id="scrollup">Scroll</a>
